Timber is an excellent wooden building material. It can often be left almost untouched to give that ‘barn like’ feel to any building. However, when left untreated timber can quickly start to rot and become unsuitable for holding large structures. If water gets into timber and it freezes, the expanding ice will cause irreparable damage to the wood.
